I have to admit that we have been a bit sluggish this month. I am sure it has something to do with the cold weather and being halfway through our current school year. We didn't go quite as all out this month with our scientific studies.
As usual we began our unit by choosing our "textbook". We decided to stick with our National Geographic theme and chose to read National Geographic Kids Everything Weather: Facts, Photos, and Fun that Will Blow You Away
.The book was perfectly broken down into two page sections making it very easy to assign bite sized daily lessons covering everything from "What's the Weather" to "Fun with Weather".
I had intentions of doing lots of weather experiments and crafts but lets face it it is cold and nasty outside and I just wanted to hibernate instead. We did however watch lots of pretty amazing shows on the weather channel. The girls favorite however would have to be The Strangest Weather On Earth. There are some really freaky things happening with the weather out there and the girls LOVED learning all about it.
Overall we had a very laid back month studying the weather around us, we learned a lot, and had fun learning some new things. Even mom learned a thing or two!
